Job Description

Summary

Roof plumber working in a small team, repairing roofs, guttering, leaks, storm damage, installing roof penetrations, flashing, cladding, box gutters.

You’ll work independently and in a team mostly on domestic roofs and you’ll be involved in troubleshooting difficult and challenging problems – often the jobs that ordinary roofers couldn’t fix.

Tasks:

• Repairing leaking roofs and water damage
• Repairing broken and malfunctioning guttering and box gutters
• Replacing entire roofs
• Installing roof penetrations
• Replacing damaged flashing
• Replacing damaged cladding
• Liaising with clients – domestic, builders, property managers
• Updating the job management system with job progress and photos
• Work with our apprentices and help them develop their trade skills

Responsibilities:

• Ensure work is completed on time and on budget – and to the company’s exacting standard.
• Ensure customers are happy with the standard of work (and that their roofs don’t leak)
• Ensure you have required materials for a job before you start the job
• Ensure that work is finished to a high standard – visually
• Ensure the safety of all on our building sites – yourself, our apprentice and our customers
• How we know if you’re doing a good job:
• No call backs
• No customer complaints
• Jobs finished on time and to budget
• No injuries

Desired Attributes for the Employee:

• Knowledge of roofing – colourbond roofing, box gutters, skylights (penetrations), guttering and downpipes
• Ability to complete flashings, gutter mitres and fascia, drop down gutters and drop down box gutters
• Trade qualification or equivalent
• Driving licence
• Australian work rights
• Working at heights ticket (current)
• White card
• Ability to work in a team
